This initiative established a unified approach to accessibility across design, development, and QA, improving inclusivity and user experience for all users.

Challenge

  • Needed a single source of truth for accessibility requirements, testing protocols, and regional considerations.

  • Authored the Accessibility Compliance & Inclusion Standards guide, detailing:

    • Global accessibility and inclusion requirements.

    • WCAG 2.1 AA compliance guidelines.

    • Region-specific legal standards for US, UK, EU, and APAC.

  • Defined department-specific responsibilities:

    • Product Design: Color contrast, typography, UI patterns, and interaction models.

    • Development: Semantic HTML, ARIA roles, keyboard navigation, and responsive scaling.

    • QA: Accessibility testing protocols for screen readers, keyboard navigation, and visual contrast checks.

  • Created resources and references for ongoing training and compliance efforts.
